20 Valentine's Day Ideas (That Don't Involve Sweets)

It’s Valentine’s Day, which means love is in the air. Whether it’s a welcomed occasion or you are currently of the opinion that love stinks is none of our business. But one thing’s for sure; today is yet another day on the calendar you’ll find yourself inundated with temptations to eat sweets. According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend over 23 billion dollars to celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2022. And a whopping 56% of that money will be spent on candy.1 A box of chocolates may make your sweetheart happy, or at least your dentist, but what about those of us who want to...

Is Hunger a Bad Thing?

One of the most common concerns we hear when people are beginning the program is that they are afraid that they are going to be hungry. Just to set the record straight, almost everyone who starts GOLO discovers quite quickly that our plan includes plenty of food and the majority of customers tell us that they are never hungry. But that doesn’t mean that you won’t ever feel hunger; and to be honest, feeling hungry is actually a good thing. If you take it after that 20-minute p...

Pictures from Amber's GOLO Journey

The Shrinking Woman

What can we say about Amber? She may be one of the most inspiring GOLO journeys we have ever witnessed. In an effort to help others, she revealed the many struggles –– both physical and mental –– she experienced due to her weight. Throughout her journey[DL1] , her humble and consistent attitude has transformed her into a role model for anyone trying to lose weight and fight depression, all at the same time. Last year, she wrote a lengthy blog post about how vulnerable she felt before losing weight with GOLO. Amber is a great example as to why Non-Scale Victories (NSV) are essential. We...

The Family Who GOLOs Together: Part II

Eight weeks in the program: 3/8/2020 At the 6-week mark of this program came the dreaded time for us to move our daughter over 3,000 miles away to Vancouver, BC. She got accepted to a film school that has the exact program degree that she wants to have as a career. She’s always been a shy kid, but she really wanted this and who are we to stomp on her dreams? I was going out with her 2 weeks before her program started to get her set up in her apartment. In addition to this being a sad time of letting our baby go and not seeing her every day, we also had to worry about staying on p...
